University President's Briefing

In the name of Allah the Merciful

University of Basrah considers as an impressive progressed scientific edifice today, by the efforts of its lecturers. Where it is very obvious to all that the university was founded in 1964 with four faculties which are Arts, Science, and Engineering, as well as the Faculty of Law and after a scientific career full of successes over the latest five decades, it now includes twenty faculties in various Scientific and humanitarian disciplines and other research centers, in accordance with the requirements of the labor market. The university seeks to provide an appropriate environment for the students to gain cognitive sciences that contribute in providing services to the community each within his field of competence. We are now going forward to apply the ministerial program of the university according to the planned time as well as on the University inclusion at the global rankings.

And we appreciate those great efforts that have been exerted in order to raise this edifice by lecturers, working staff and students wishing them more progress to serve our great Iraq.
