A seminar at basrah center and Arab gulf studies at university of basrah discussed the implications of Umayyad Islam on the state, thought and Islamic Currents.
The researcher Abdul Hadi Maatouq Al Rikabi said there are four lines that emerged after the death of the Prophet (PBUH) is the Al-Bayt line, early immigrantsline, mueawi line which included Umayyad Islam and apostates line, so the umayyads created a kingly system that was stranger to Islam. Its most important features were limited to despotism, extravagance and ownership.so lacked of freedom and human rights.
The researcher recommended the need to re-read history is a necessary introduction to correct contemporary Islamic thought and make texts above men.
