Two researchers from University of Basrah participate in the second scientific Conference for breeding camels at the University of Muthanna

Two academics at faculty of Agriculture, university of basrah Dr. Asaad Yahya Ayed and researcher Ayoub Radi Tohma participated in the Proceedings of the Second Scientific Conference for breeding and Camel Diseases at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Muthanna University, which was held under the title (Camel is a national treasure that must be taken care of he).

Researcher Ayoub Radi Tohma said that their participation was to provide scientific research under the title (Evaluation of genetic diversity in Iraqi camel breeds using Cytochrome b).

The results showed that the Iraqi camels exhibited an average genetic variation of 42% in the cytb gene. The study also showed that there were three groups of haplogroup. The Iraqi camels were in an independent group compared to camels in the world.
