An academic at University of Basrah issued a book on the role of speculations in the global oil market

Issued a book of Dr. Nabil Jaafar Abdul Redha the academic at Faculty of Administration and Economics, university of basrah under title (the role of speculations in the global oil market).

This book is the first book in Arabic, which examines speculative transactions through futures contracts, which is an active factor in the market, which made oil one of the speculative commodities.

The book discussed the speculative operations in oil based on the future expectations of prices, which are based on a range of macroeconomic variables, political and climate also. Speculation sometimes leads to a 21% increase in oil prices as occurred during the period 2004-2008.
