An academic from university of Basrah publishes a research in a scientific journal

Dr. Haifa Jassim Al - Tamimi the academic at faculty of Agriculture, university of Basrah a published a scientific research in American journal of engineering science and technology in partnership with a number of researchers.

Al- Tamimi explained during her tagged research (Effect Of Groundwater salinity level on soil using remote sensing and Geographic Information Systems in the Southwest of Basrah Governorate) The possibility of using remote sensing technologies in the monitoring and evaluation of groundwater salinity, its effect on soil salinity in the south-west of Basra Governorate. Where satellite data from Lunar Satellites 2000 and 2015, supported by field data, were used for soil and groundwater salinity in the region.

She concluded that there was a decline in the area of low salinity land, which reached 47.8% in 2000 and decreased to 35.9 in 2015.
