University of Basrah holds its annual agricultural exhibition

Faculty of Agriculture at university of Basrah hold its annual agricultural exhibition in commemoration of the founding of university.

Dr. Salah Mahdi Sultan, Head of Media and Public Relations unit at the College said that the exhibition this year marked the presentation of the scientific output of the faculty members, in addition to the presentation of some agricultural products which produced by college.

Sultan said also that what was presented in the scientific products are patents and research published in international journals as well as graduate research plans, he added also that most of the agricultural products in college were presented as poultry eggs, quail eggs and meat products, as well as about 20 products between dairy products, bread products, pastries, pickles of all kinds, in addition to The most important types of trees, ornamental plants and palm trees, tropical fruits, some medicinal plants, aromatic plants and tamarind plants, Sultan explained that has been introduced a sit of apparatuses as Poultry wassler Meats apparatus, Aquaculture system (without soil), Production of honey bee, Catching  nematode apparatus, an insect intensity counting apparatus, traps of the red Hornet,  of insect killing by sound waves apparatus, he  presented also a group of crops that were newly introduced and planted and proved successful under the conditions of Basrah Governorate , the crop of the Albubank and oats and the plant Astvia also. Has been presented Models of fish preserved in the manner of rezin, some models of river, marine fish, large invertebrates useful and harmful.

He said also that the exhibition included presence of wide and formal academic presence.
