The Faculty of Science at the University of Basrah organized a seminar entitled "The relationship between Genetic Polymorphism of Cyp19 and Cyp17 genes with the risk of having uterine lining cancer between Basrah women".
The researcher, Anwar Nuri Ayoub, the samples of patients were collected with uterine lining cancer and ovarian cancer from Oncology Center and Hematology of Al-Sadir Al-Talimi Hospital in Basrah, where the number of samples was 62 sample of uterine lining cancer and ovarian cancer patients and 60 samples of controller samples were collected, DNA was extracted and gene amplification using P.C.R. machine.
A sequence Nitrogen bases were defined. After the statistical analysis, the results showed that there was no significant difference in Cyp17 gene within both diseases. It was detected by the MSPA1, and by the sequence of the nitrogen bases. The results confirmed that there was a relationship with Cyp19 gene with both diseases. The results showed that there were seven alleles, especially Cyp19.
The number of repetitions was (12 - 7), and the effect of long alleles was twice the effect of short alleles. (7-11), (7-12), (7-10), and (11-11) for both diseases. The study also showed that there is a vital relationship between the risk of getting the disease and the age of the women and the fact that the countrysides are considered to be five times more dangerous to get the disease in compared to urban areas.
