Al-Issa visits the sites of radiation pollution areas in Basrah and transmits the case to the integrity

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Abdul Razzaq Al-Issa, visited the sites of radiation pollution areas in Basrah, explaining the need to complete the cleaning of radioactive waste in the foreseeable future.

Al-Issa examined the sites being handled by experts from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology at the General Iron and Steel Company and Al-Mursalat station of the Iraqi Media Network, which was bombed within the second Gulf War. Al-Issa mentioned that the case of radiation pollution in Basrah province was transmitted to the integrity to investigate with this case, which spent about five billion dinars without noticeable benefit, pointing out that the indicators of negligence over the past years can bring those involved to the judiciary. The Minister of Education ensured to proceed with the treating process of radioactive waste under the supervision of experts from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology, who are preparing to announce the complete decontamination of radioactive sites.
