Basrah University in cooperation with Basrah Petroleum Company discuss (Petrel program)

The College of Science at the University of Basrah organized a seminar entitled "Petrel Program".

Mr. Ayman Adel, an employee at Basrah Oil Company in cooperation with Geology Department, explained that the Petrel program is one of the most important perograms in the field of petroleum, especially for students interested in Geology and Geophysics, and the student of production and drilling. It allows the user to perform forecasting exercises and to use seismic data operations to determine the location of the oil.

It also allows the user to operate a simulation system for the oil tank and the work of correcting it and calculating the quantities and making maps to exploit the oil reservoir and the full exploitation and the work of studies and research crisis on the oil tank.
