In Presence of Basrah Governor and University Board member’s Started Departure Ceremony of Basrah University President

The Governor of Basrah, the engineer As'ad Al-Eidani, and University Board members started departure ceremony of Basrah University President, Dr. Thamer Ahmed Hamdan, who was retired for reaching the legal age after Extensive experience with many administrative and scientific achievement. Also, he took many positions in the university such as the head of Surgery department at the College of Medicine then as a dean of the college and finally President of Basrah University.

Hamdan mentioned that he is proud of what was achieved by Basrah University, including the inaugurating of several scientific departments as well as a number of colleges such as the Faculty of Information Technology, Faculty of Marine Sciences, Al-Zahra Medical College and finally High Studies Deanship.

 It is also worth mentioning that Hamdan was born in Basra in 1948 and has many local and international certificates in medical fields and Orthopaedic Surgery, as well as he was the author of different books which are 28 books and he published 130 scientific research.
