Researching Team at the University of Basrah Studies Organic Amendments Effect on Lettuce Growth & Production

A team from Horticulture and gardening department in Agriculture Faculty at Basrah University investigated the effect of using organic amendments on the growth and production of lettuce in one of Al-Zwain gardens area in Al-Dair district.

Dr. Hamza Abbas Hamza, a lecturer at the Horticulture and gardening department, mentioned that the use of organic amendments by adding them to the plant have a great role in improving aboveground leafy growth and increasing the total number of lettuce plants. The researching team is composed of Dr. Awatif Naama, Dr. Abdullah Abdulaziz, Dr. Abbas Kazem, Dr. Fares Ibrahim, Hitaf Hamoud and the researcher Haidar Majid.
