The Deanship of Agriculture Faculty at University of Basrah discusses the establishment of agricultural projects with Basrah Agriculture Directorate, through presenting proposals for agricultural projects to revive various agricultural activities and contribute to employe agricultural engineers graduates. This was hosted by the Agriculture faculty council, Basrah Agriculture Manager, Amer Salman Abdul Hussein.
The administrative assistant of the College Deanship, Dr. Mohsen Abdul Hadi Dasher, mentioned that this proposal came through preliminary contacts and understandings between Agriculture Faculty and the Basra province Governance hall for the purpose of allocating amounts from the government budget of Basrah province to establish these projects in order to achieve the principle of sustainable development in the agricultural sector and support the local markets agricultural products and provide jobs opportunities.
He pointed out that the Faculty of Agriculture proposed that the establishment of these projects on the land of Agricultural Experiments and Research Centres in Al-Haritha, which has a large area and plant production and livestock production configurations as well as, secondary food processing industries.
At the same time, the College Dean Dr. Nofal Abdul Amir Hussein Instructed the heads of departments to adopt research plans and projects of Postgraduate students to deal with the problems that face the agricultural reality in Basrah province and to find the appropriate solutions for them through scientific research.
