University of Basrah discusses indicators assessment of health development in Iraq

Basrah and Gulf Gulf Studies Center at Basrah University discussed the analysis and evaluation of health development indicators in Iraq.

The researcher Sonia Arzroony from Economics studies department mentioned that the study of the budget law of 2019 leads us to develop an indicator toward the governmental spending level on health institutions, which was characterized by structural deformity and lack of conformity in medical service quality standards.

Arzroony proposed the establishment of an administrative institution to develop an integrated database including the various records of health institutions and their human resources, finance and health statistics and linking them technically to the central health information system as well as, increasing interest in rural areas by providing health facilities and opening specialized departments, as in the city centers to ensure the Iraqi citizen on a fair medical service.
