University of Basrah Discusses Commercial Arbitration in Maritime Disputes

A seminar at the Faculty of Law in Basrah University discussed commercial arbitration in maritime disputes.

A lecturer at the college A'tidal Abdulbaqi mentioned at the seminar, the maritime transport is considered the artery of international trade.

The maritime transport is considered international trade artery, where the different countries resort to it because of its cheap costs, ease of movement, and less complication, but there may be disputes and disagreements due to the implementation of transport contract or maritime accidents.

It is noteworthy to mention that because the differences of conflict parties, some of them tend to resolve the dispute by alternative methods to prison terms, such as commercial arbitration, which is characterized by expediency and fewer expenses.
