University of Basrah Organizes Course on Bacterial DNA Extraction

Center of Marine Sciences at the University of Basrah organized a course on the extraction of DNA from bacteria.

The course aimed to explain the composition of bacteria, their types, properties, specifications and methods of DNA extraction, in addition, to explain the theoretical basis for extraction and photographing methods using ultra-violet light. The course concluded that extraction is done in two ways, the first is the Electrophoresis technique and the other is the Nanodrop technique.
