Lecturer at Basrah University participates in course safety and chemical security in Manchester city

Dr. Mohammed Al-Yasiri, a lecturer at the College of Science in Basrah University, participated in the safety, security and internal risks in chemical and biological laboratories in Iraqi universities and institutions set up by the US Department of State in cooperation with the American Sandia National Laboratories in Manchester.

The course aims to study and discuss the lack and deficit in chemical safety and security procedures in the laboratories of universities and Iraqi institutions in addition to dealing with the terrorist targeting of chemical laboratories and warehouses in war and peace conditions and to identify the most prominent obstacles that contributed to the low level of safety and chemical security.

The course recommended taking many immediate and future procedures to reduce the threat of exploitation of laboratories and chemicals and how to deal in the conservation of chemicals in safe and tight places, as well as the preparation of Iraqi trainers who undertake to train and disseminate a culture of security and chemical safety through compulsory courses within the requirements of graduation or holding seminars and conferences in this field.
