University of Basrah participates in the completion of the sixth national report of the Convention on Biological Diversity

Dr. Abbas Jassem Al-Faisal, a researcher at Marine Sciences Center in Basrah University, participated in the work of the completion of the sixth national report of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) issued by the Department of Marshes and Sustainable Management of natural ecosystems of the Ministry of Health and Environment.

The report concerns with assessment of the environmental situation of Iraqi and supports the five-year plan that the government called to at the beginning of 2015, to develop the marine environment for the years (2015-2020).

The researcher aims to provide data, information and analytical statistics on the level of progress of services and work in the five-year plan, which is sponsored by the United Nations Development Program (UNEP) and other institutions.
