A joint research team in the College of Pharmacy, University of Basrah conducted a joint study on Synthesis, Characterization of Ibuprofen N- AcyI -1,3,4- Oxadiazole Derivatives and Anticancer Activity against MCF-7 Cell Line.
The joint study, in which published in the Indian Journal of Systematic Review Pharmacyin in SCOPUSQ2 and impact factor (0.42), demonstrated conducting Synthesizing and Characterizing of ibuprofen Oxadiazole and their diagnosis using FT-IR spectroscopy techniques, proton magnetic resonance analysis, and microscopy techniques, and the Anticancer activity was studied using the MCF7 cell line for breast cancer because of its importance as it represents 23% of cancer diseases in general and 14% of the proportion Cancer Deaths.
The joint study concluded that the Synthesized derivatives revealed promising in vitro Cytotoxicity, the molecular hybrid system of ibuprofen-oxadiazole has demonstrated additional biological effectiveness for ibuprofen, and that means effective antitumor activity with a significant reduction in viable cells.
It is worth mentioning that the joint research team was the faculty members Mr.Mustafa Qusay, Dr. Leaqaa Abdal-Ridha, Dr. Falah Hassan Sheri.
